What to ExpectEvery December, Cosecha gathers our community for a posada — an evening of tradition, warmth, and connection to close out the year. It's dinner, a silent auction, live entertainment, and a candlelit procession, all in the spirit of the season.
More than a party, it's our biggest fundraiser of the year. Every ticket, bid, and gift goes straight back into the work you already know us for: our school gardens, our public garden, the Abundancia CSA, and our Spanish and English language classes — all of it bilingual, all of it bicultural, all of it built with South Nashville's immigrant community at the center.
Last year, this room raised $14,000. This year, we're reaching for $20,000 — and we'd love for you to be part of it.
Padrinos & Madrinas
In a traditional posada, padrinos and madrinas aren't just godparents — they're the neighbors who each take on one piece of the celebration, so no one person carries the whole night alone. One sponsors the candles for the procession. Another brings the ponche. Another makes sure there's a piñata for the kids. It's an old, practical kind of generosity, and it's core to what a posada is.
We're carrying that same tradition into ours. When you become a padrino or madrina, you're taking on a specific part of the evening — starting at $150 for the procession candles, up through $1,500+ as our presenting sponsor. Every level comes with recognition in the program and a thank-you from the MC, and it's one of the most direct ways to be part of the night, whether or not you can make it in person.
